Care Ministry/Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Sick and Homebound
The care Ministers are a group of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who take the Body of Christ to sick, dying and near-dying Catholics in local nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes. Theirs is a mission of love and spiritual comfort as they bring the most precious gift of the Eucharist to those unable to attend Mass. They give them the best medicine - Jesus himself - to help them and bring them peace and spiritual comfort.
"And taking bread, he gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them, saying: This is my body, which is given for you. Do this for a commemoration of me." - Luke 22:19 "I am the bread of life. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world." - John 6:48-51 |
